A safe test day starts before pickup.
mytestcar connects learners and volunteer drivers. Both people remain responsible for checking that the arrangement, vehicle and insurance are suitable.
Before accepting
- Confirm the learner’s test centre, date, time and pickup plan by phone.
- Make sure the car is roadworthy, taxed, has a current MOT where required, and is insured specifically for the learner’s driving test.
- Check the current DVSA vehicle rules, including the examiner’s mirror, passenger head restraint, seatbelt and L-plates.
Protect your privacy
Driver phone numbers are hidden until a request is accepted. Keep early communication on the platform and never share banking passwords, verification codes or identity-document numbers in messages.
When something feels wrong
Decline or cancel the arrangement. For immediate danger, contact emergency services. Platform reporting and support tools will be expanded before the public launch.
